Photo Friday: Rio de Janeiro

We have had an amazing week in Rio for so many reasons. I have taken hundreds of photos, but these are five of my favourites.

These trees are everywhere, and they are just so beautiful. They also provided shade for us on our first day, when we’d forgotten to put on sun cream. Doh!

We reached Christ the Redeemer in an unconventional way. I’ll write about our journey to the top sometime next week.

We visited Vidigal, a pacified favela. The street art there is beautiful.

I feel like I was up a mountain more often than on the beach! Rio has several amazing vantage points to look over the city.

The famous and super colourful Lapa Stairs were a highlight of ours. There are so many tiles!

Have you been to Rio? What did you think? Where are some other amazing places to visit? Let us know in the comments below!

We visited a few months ago, so sadly missed the excitement of the Olympic (although thankfully also the crowds!) It is genuinely one of the nicest places that we have ever visited, and we are already planning to go back.
